Tips For Driving in Mahé, Seychelles

However, it would be wise to familiarise yourself with key traffic rules before you depart on your island adventure. In Seychelles, you drive on the left-hand side of the road. So, if you’re from a country where you drive on the right-hand side, be sure to take your time to adjust accordingly before you take on more challenging routes.
Mahé is known for its hilly, mountainous terrain with narrow roads, so be sure to slow down before any tight hairpin bends. It is not uncommon for other road users to give a short honk when approaching these bends to notify any approaching traffic of their presence.
Parking is fairly accessible throughout the island. However, it may prove challenging in more crowded areas such as Victoria (Mahé’s capital city), popular beaches, and resorts, especially during peak season.
