Mother Nature was incredibly generous when she created the Seychelles archipelago, which consists of 115 picturesque islands spread in the Indian Ocean. The magnificence of the Seychellois beaches is beyond description and unparalleled anywhere in the world. Magnificent ribbons of powdery-soft white sand lapped by turquoise waters and backed by palm tree-covered hills and large rocky boulders, here’s our selection of the most spectacular beaches in the Seychelles.
Beau Vallon (Mahe Island)
Beau Vallon is not only the longest beach in the Seychelles, but it is also the most popular with visitors and locals alike, thanks to the abundance of restaurants, bars, and beach shacks on offer. Far from secluded, this broad cove of white sand and blue waters on Mahé Island’s north-western shore provides a highly secure swimming place. With hotels strung out along the sand, as well as water sport and diving establishments, this is the beach for people looking for something more active than soaking up the rays.
Grande Anse (La Digue Island)
Grande Anse is a beautiful beach on La Digue Island’s southeast shore, about a 15- to 20-minute bike ride uphill from the main dock. The beach is exceptionally beautiful, surrounded by big granite boulders and possessing white beaches. The beach also has a restaurant and restrooms, so guests may easily spend the entire afternoon there.
Petite Anse (Mahe Island)
Petite Anse is a magnificent curve of powder soft and blinding white sand on Mahe Island’s west coast, bordered by two massive granite cliffs. The beach, which faces north and offers ideal swimming conditions due to its gentle incline, gives breathtaking views of Mahe Island’s lush highlands. The exquisite Four Seasons Resort entirely surrounds the beach and has a private beach club with water sports here, but Petite Anse, like all beaches in the Seychelles, is available to the public.
Anse Lazio (Praslin Island)
Anse Lazio is the most well-known beach on Praslin, and with good reason. The amazing beach is frequently rated among the world’s top 10 beaches, although to be honest, you could say that about most of the Seychelles’ beaches. This dream beach is beautifully bordered by granite boulders on both ends and boasts a broad and huge stretch of soft white sands leading to peaceful, turquoise, and unbelievably clean waters with a mild gradient, ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
Anse Source D’Argent (La Digue Island)
Anse Source d’Argent is said to be the world’s most photographed beach. With its smooth white sand, beautiful blue sea, and massive granite boulders sculpted by the weather and time itself, it’s easy to see why photographers and filmmakers continue to visit. The reef protects the sea, making it calm and shallow. This beauty, however, comes at a cost, as access to the beach is only available through the privately-owned plantation L’Union Estate, which demands a nominal admission fee. Also, this gorgeous beach is a popular tourist destination, so expect large crowds and a wait during peak hours.
