2025 Is Here – Make Seychelles Your Next Big Leap!

Happy 2025! It’s January, which means it’s time to make your New Year’s resolutions come true and drive your Seychelles dreams! Make your Praslin and Mahe dreams come alive with Kreol Cars, your partner in good travelling.

Seychelles is home to 115 gorgeous islands, each replete with creamy sands, cerulean seas, and studded with emerald forests. Its unique biosphere brags iconic flora and wildlife like the Coco de Mer fruit and much-adored Aldabra tortoise. It has the world’s smallest frog, heaviest tortoise, and only flightless bird of the Indian Ocean.

The distinct Creole culture has produced world-renowned dishes like octopus curry, Poison ek diri, and Ladob. Creole people are wonderful, too – friendly and kind to everyone around them.

Let’s discuss all the reasons Seychelles should be your next big leap in 2025, from unique Creole culture and history to its biodiversity and landscapes.

Cultural Diversity

Seychelles has a relatively short history, only being explored by its first Frenchman less than 300 years ago. The archipelago only gained independence in the mid-seventies and became a democracy in the early nineties. Since its inhabitance and colonisation by the French and British and influences from African and Indian culture, Seychelles has borne its own unique culture, traditions, and foods.

Today, a lot of the country speaks English and Seychellois Creole, with a few speaking French, too. People of almost every race on earth have contributed to the development of the Seychellois people.

Cuisine

As a result of its Indian, French, and African influences, a cuisine built upon seafood, spices, coconut, and rice emerged. Their curries and stir frys come from Asia and their use of garlic and herbs come from Europe. Some of Seychelles’ most iconic dishes include:

  • Fish, because of Seychelles’ proximity to the Indian Ocean.
  • Curry dishes with rice, particularly coconut curry.
  • Fresh fruit, especially mango.
  • Chicken dishes.

Some of Seychelles’ most notable dishes are Ladob, shark chutney, octopus curry, and fish soup.

Landscape

Seychelles is famed for some of the most beautiful and untouched landscapes in the world. It boasts two world heritage sites, Aldabra Atoll and Vallee de Mai, where the magnificent Coco de Mer grows. Tourists and locals alike love beaches like Anse Georgette, Anse Lazio, Petite Anse, and Petite Anse Kerlan.

Weather

Seychelles’ weather reaches a shiveringly cold average daily temperature of 24 to 30 degrees Celsius every day. The islands lie outside the cyclone belt and don’t reach extreme temperatures.

Adventure

The Seychelles has plenty to do for adventure seekers, from ziplining to snorkelling and taking boats to remote islands for island hopping. Kreol Adventures offers chartered boat rides like this to Curiese, as close to nature as you could ever get and home to Seychelles’ famous tortoises.

It’s time to make your New Year's resolutions come true and drive your Seychelles dreams!
