As we continue to move further away from the difficulties of 2020, Seychelles has opened their borders welcoming travellers to experience sun, sand and sea in a tropical paradise unlike any other. If you are already planning your trip to this incredible archipelago, there are a few things you will need to know before booking your flight.
All visitors are required to obtain the mandatory Seychelles Health Travel Authorization document, which will be reviewed in 9 hours or less from the time of application and cost 10 euros. No visitor is exempt from this requirement. Applications can be made on the official Seychelles Government site and include providing proof of your passport, travel arrangements, your Covid-19 test results (not exceeding 3 days before your arrival) and your vaccination certificate if you have one. Visitors and crew arriving by sea must apply for the health travel authorization by email at pha@health.gov.sc.
It is important to note that while proof of vaccination is not a firm requirement, a negative PCR test taken within 3 days before departure is, along with staying in approved accommodation and having adequate health insurance covering possible Covid-19 related care.
Luckily for interested travellers, there will be no forced quarantine or restrictions on movement for most travellers upon entry provided that they adhere to all public health measures such as wearing a mask, social distancing and following curfew. However, those travelling from high-risk locations within 14 days preceding their arrival in Seychelles will be denied entry. These high-risk locations include Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Nepal, and Pakistan. It is best to follow up with the Seychelles Travel Authorisation for clarification as the list is constantly under revision and subject to sudden changes.
