While this is undoubtedly a sporting event, the principal secretary for tourism stated that the Seychelles is also a destination that they want to promote, therefore they are collaborating with key partners like the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA), as the majority of the course will be in protected areas.
Anse Major, Mare Aux Cochons, and Casse Dents will be covered over a distance of 22 kilometres by participants. Grand Anse’s western Mahe neighbourhood is where the challenge will come to a finish. Seychellois can register online at www.ilop.re, and Seychellois can register in person at the National Sports Council (NSC) for a charge of SCR300 ($23). Foreigners must pay $37 for registration.
Medals will be awarded to all participants in the competition, and cups will be presented to the various winners. Around 300 competitors are anticipated to compete in the event, and all required safety measures will be taken to prevent any mishaps from occurring.
