The Seychelles continues to host a string of exciting events that not only help raise the destination’s international profile but also offer activities for tourists to revel in while on holiday. On the other side, locals don’t wait for special events to party. Having such beautiful weather year-round is both a blessing and a curse, as weekends are almost always filled with what has become a celebratory culture of beach barbeques, campfires and picnics.
Here are some of the upcoming events happening in the Seychelles.
2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup
Reports indicate that the first-ever FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Africa is scheduled to take place from the 1st of May to the 11th of May 2025, in Victoria, Mahé in the Seychelles — one of the best things to do.
Festival Kreol 2025 in Seychelles
The Seychelles is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their annual Kreol Festival this year. The “Festival Kreol” is a lively and enchanting event that immerses both locals and visitors in the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Seychelles. Held annually during the last week of October, this festival highlights the island’s history, traditions and the blend of cultures that have shaped Seychelles into what it is today.
The best part of this festival has to be the food. The whole village is lined with food stalls selling delicious Creole food. Think freshly grilled fish, tasty curries and all sorts of tropical dishes. It’s the best opportunity to taste the real flavours of Seychelles and try out unique dishes that have a certain Creole flair.
The atmosphere is filled with lively rhythms and pulsating drums, not to mention the hypnotic movements of the dancers. Traditional Sega and Moutya dances are a must-see, as they have their roots in African and European culture but have evolved into something uniquely Seychellois. Add to that with local bands and artists performing traditional and modern Creole music, which really makes it a fascinating soundtrack to the festival. These shows bring out the talent of Seychellois musicians in their ability to blend different styles of music into something uniquely Creole.
Here are some of the activities and attractions you can expect during this annual fiesta:
1. Exhibitions
